Roatan is a laid-back travel destination and so you need to bring very little. Flip flops, swimsuit and shorts are a must, of course. While the temperature is normally in the 80's year round, many guests like to have a long sleeved shirt or light sweater for evenings.
The dress on the island is very casual, with Hawaiian or golf attire being the standard for "dress up" occasions and beach attire the standard for daytime activities. The people in the photo gallery will give you a look at how people dress.
While the Lempiras is Honduras' currency, often people who travel to Roatan don't bother to exchange their dollars because most island businesses take the dollar at the standard exchange rate.
But be sure to bring cash as well as credit cards because cards are not yet universally accepted in Roatan or the Bay Islands. Credit cards are accepted at Infinity Bay but bring enough cash to cover your meals and activities off our property during your Roatan vacation.
