Whale Shark Expedition

Utila is one of the best places in the world to see the majestic whale shark. Reaching lengths of 12 m, these harmless plankton feeders are the largest fish in the ocean and the prime attraction of our expedition. They are present year round but their numbers peak from February through May. When one of our experienced skippers spots a Whale shark basking near the surface, he positions the boat so that the Whale shark is swimming toward it. Once the motors are off, you quietly slide in the water and swim with the shark. It is an experience you will not soon forget.
