It's February already and what a great time to be on the island! The weather has been mostly exquisite and so is the Infinity Bay Spa & Beach Resort development. The roofs are going on and what a beautiful sight. By the end of the month the roof tiling will be under way, which will really change the look. At the same time decks are being poured and the patio columns are transforming the overall appearance. The lights, furniture package, cabinets, doors, and interior tile have all been ordered and will arrive soon. On March 15th the construction begins on our Palapa swim up pool bar and Family Pool area. The pool areas will be an added centerpiece to the overall resort with in pool bar stools, an infinity edge, water features, and much more.

January 2007 was Infinity's best month for Condominium/Villa sales. Also the most productive sales day was January 1st, - what a way to start the new year! Our Infinity Family would like to thank the sales staff of Tommy Bauer, Angie Jones, and Oscar Moradel for all of their efforts. As of January 31st there were eight confirmed sales for the month. We are all excited about the results and it looks very likely that the first phase will be sold out this spring. Based on these results and observing how investor interest is growing on Roatan, we are expecting very good appreciation for Infinity owners over the short and longer term.
According to Darryl Martinez, our General Contractor, we currently have over 320 workers on site. We also welcome Jerry Stoffal and Andy Damewood, our experts from the United States who have moved down to complete all of the underground work for both the first and second phase of the resort. We are also delighted to welcome back Mayforn Bodden who has been on maternity leave the past 12 weeks and is the proud mother of a baby boy.
Retail and business rental costs are climbing in value along the main road of Sandy Bay and in West End, due to the increased demand for rental space. New businesses on the drawing boards include more storage facilities, retirement areas, food stops, boutiques and health spas. Continued increased demand is a plus to the Roatan economy and the outlook is very strong for the Island.
Official estimates have been announced which state that Honduras can expect to receive approximately $300 to $350 million in foreign investment this year. Both the president of the Foundation for the Investment and Development of Exports and the Central Bank of Honduras agree with these numbers. Foreign direct investment was at $250 million in 2006. This increase is said to be due to vast economic improvements in Honduras, which include a growing economy, low inflation and a reduction in interest rates.
In the next few months Infinity Bay will be on tour attending four trade shows promoting the resort in the U.S. The shows will be in Chicago, New Jersey, Houston, and Ft. Lauderdale. Mike Wendling has established Resort rates for 2007 and we look forward to making Infinity Spa & Beach Resort the most prestigious resort on Roatan. Until next time...
